Federated Department Stores Inc.             Atlanta, GA    (03/06–present)

Executive Vice President Merchandising Processes and Systems

Responsible for merchandising and supply chain strategies, processes, and systems for 30B retailer.  Currently implementing new merchandise planning, allocation and reporting systems across all Federated divisions that support localization of assortments (store micromerchandising).  Also responsible for the migration of Macy's Midwest and Macy's North divisions to Federated processes and systems.

 

 

May Department Stores Inc.             St. Louis, MO    (01/05–03/06)

Senior Vice President Corporate Inventory Management

Responsible for inventory-related strategies, processes, systems and other merchandising issues for 15B retailer.  Implemented new merchandise planning, assortment planning, consumer insights, and allocation processes and systems.  Steering Committee Coordinator managing and implementing the Federated-May merger for the merchandising area.

 

 

Kurt Salmon Associates                                      Atlanta, GA    (7/01–1/05, 2/96–1/99)

National Director of Growth & Profitability Services

Managing Partner with Kurt Salmon Associates, the world's largest retail consulting firm.  Worked in a variety of roles, starting with line Partner and progressing to the role of National Director of Growth & Profitability (G&P) − the largest and most profitable group within KSA.  The G&P group provided merchandising and strategy consulting services to retailers and consumer products companies.  Under his leadership, the group grew at an annual rate of 20% and produced operating margins of over 50%.  Personal areas of expertise included all areas of inventory management, multi-channel, advanced retail systems, and merchandising strategy.  Please see Representative Consulting Clients section.

 

 

Gerald Stevens Inc.                                   Ft. Lauderdale, FL     (1/99–7/01)

Chief Information Officer

Helped create start-up retailer with original founders of Blockbuster Inc.  Company became the largest vertically integrated floral and gift company, with over 300 physical stores, 5 major internet businesses, major catalog (Calyx and Corolla) and call center operations, and wholesale/import operations in just over 14 months.  Mr. Nevill was responsible for all systems-related matters, designing store/hub operational processes, and running the internet-based businesses.

 

 

American Retail Group (C&A)                              Atlanta, GA   (10/91–2/96)

Director of Strategic Systems

Built and led an internal consulting and systems group to support a variety of specialty chains (9 divisions, 1200+ stores).  Group performed operational and organizational redesign (re-engineering) of the retail businesses, and replaced all merchandising, logistics, stores, human resources, finance, and sourcing systems.  Implemented new Merchandising Services group that managed planning, allocation, replenishment, vendors, EDI, and stores facilitation.

Started as Senior Consultant and achieved Senior Manager position in 4 years.  Primary focus (75%) was on the retail industry, but also was involved in client projects in the public sector, insurance, and public utilities sectors.
